Scholarships
Application deadline was March 31, 2024. We will award recipients by May 1, 2024.
We are proud to provide educational assistance to entering freshman or college students, as well as those interested in a trade school or an apprenticeship. Additionally, we will be providing $7,500 to members who have active student loans.
Entering Freshmen and College Students: HAPO will award a total of $35,000 to entering freshman and college students looking to continue their education.
Trade School: HAPO will award a total of $20,000 to members pursuing a trade/technical school degree or certification, or apprenticeship program.
Student Loan Repayment: HAPO will award a total of $7,500 to members who have active student loans from continuing their higher education. More details regarding Student Loan Repayment eligibility are listed at the bottom of the page.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible in 2024, you must be a member in good standing with HAPO Community Credit Union and be enrolling in college as a full-time student with a 3.0 or greater cumulative high school GPA. Past HAPO scholarship award winners are not eligible
to receive an additional HAPO scholarship.

LiveNow Courses
You must also create a profile or login to LIVENOW, and complete 5
of the following 9 courses with a minimum grade of 70% on each course. Courses must be completed between December 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024 to qualify. Upon completion, print out the certificates for the completed courses and submit them
with your application:
Scholarship Payment Details
Scholarship Awards will be paid directly to the Institution that the recipient will be attending. In order for HAPO to provide payment to the Institution, the recipient must provide the following documents by July 15, 2024. If the documents are not provided to HAPO by July 15, 2024, the recipient will forfeit their scholarship.
- W9 (for attending college/university/school)
- Official Transcript
- Class Schedule
- Acceptance Letter
Student Loan Repayment:
To be eligible for a Student Loan Repayment, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be in good standing and a primary signer on their account.
- Applicant must have completed their degree from an accredited college, university, or technical/trade school in the United States and provide proof of degree completion (i.e. copy of diploma).
- Applicant must provide their latest loan as proof of loan balance.
- Applicant must be in good standing with their loan servicer. This includes active repayment as well as approved forbearance or deferment programs. Loans in default will not apply.
- Payments for the Student Loan Debt Repayment program will be applied as a principal loan payment to the loan servicer.
NOTE: Attending institution/program must be located inside of the United States.
