Q: When will HAPO send out tax forms?
A: You should receive your tax forms by the end of January. Paper copies are sent to your address on file.
Q: Does HAPO offer a tax filing discount?
A: Yes. In partnership with Love My Credit Union Rewards, we've teamed up with TurboTax and H&R Block to provide tax solutions for our members. Get the tax help you need and special member savings. In order to qualify for the discount, you must complete your taxes using the Love My Credit Union Rewards Tax website.
Your discount will automatically be applied during the checkout process when you file your tax return.
Q: Why didn’t I get a copy of my 1099?
A: If you earned more than $10 in interest, tax forms will be mailed to you by the end of January.
Q: What is the difference between a 1098 and 1099?
A: 1098 tax forms report the amount of interest and mortgage-related expenses paid on an individual real-estate loan. If you pay $600.00 or more in interest on a real estate-secured loan (mortgage, home equity, etc.) you’ll receive
the 1098 form at the end of January of the following year.
1099 tax forms report the amount of interest received on all interest-bearing accounts. A form is issued if you earned more than $10 or more cumulative interest on all accounts in the previous year.
